A choir for Victoria

More than 175,000 international students enrol to study in Victoria every year. To help them settle in, Study Melbourne and IDP Education, created a choir for international student singers of all abilities.

Participating students were from all over the world, studying at different institutions around Victoria and taking a wide range of courses from biomedical science to hospitality and tourism to applied linguistics to public health.choir

A group ranging from 30 to 65 students gathered weekly in the Study Melbourne Student Centre, an Australia-first one-stop-shop for Victorian international students to access information, support and free WiFi, tea, coffee and printing.

The choir made their debut performance to a crowd of hundreds at the Australian International Education Conference, held in Melbourne 18 – 21 October 2016.
