ReMINDer Resource Kit for International Students

Want to know the day to day information about living in Melbourne such as “How does the public transport work?” or “When do the shops close?” Thankfully the Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health (MCWH) have teamed up with two international students to help you find the answers.

Tiffany and Yan from Monash University worked with MCWH to develop a fantastic resource kit aimed at helping new international students adjust to life in Melbourne. The ReMINDer Resource Kit for International Students is full of useful information, from Australian greeting customs to advice about bank accounts. The guide is also packed with important student welfare advice with a focus on mental health, so on top of the important living information it can also help you understand your rights as an international student in Australia and where you can go for health care.

Access the full guide here to find information on:

  • Transport
  • Accommodation
  • Banking
  • Phone and Internet providers
  • Shopping (including groceries and chemists)
  • Employment and workplace rights
  • Local culture
  • Ways to connect with others
  • Mental health and seeking help
  • Healthcare services

This guide is a great resource for anyone new to Melbourne, or anyone who’s travelling over soon. And even though it was developed through the Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health, men will find this resource just as useful as women will!
