John_4NAME: John Cuestaquintero

STUDYING: English language at Impact English College

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Colombia

WHY MELBOURNE? One day I was working as an architect in Bogota, Colombia, and I thought to myself, I have been working in the same job for 8 years. I felt a little bit bored about that because my life hadn’t changed for long time, so I decided to make big changes in my life, something really extreme for me. I thought that I would like to travel and learn a new language, but the question was where? And the answer was really easy. It had to be a place where the quality of life was high, where you can meet a lot of people from different countries, where you can find so many different cultures, kinds of food, languages, styles, thoughts and also where you can embrace life, so the answer was Melbourne, a cosmopolitan, interesting and beautiful kind of city.

FAVOURITE PLACE IN VICTORIA: Victoria has so many interesting places but the best experience I have had was the fly over Twelve Apostles. It was such a amazing experience. I will never forget that experience and also that place that is one of my favorites places in Victoria.

ADVICE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: I think that the only risk that international students would take in Melbourne is that they would fall in love with it and then they wouldn’t want to go back to their hometown.
